Rabia Khan, mother of late Bollywood star Jiah Khan, has filed a petition in Bombay HC, appealing the ruling of a special Central Bureau of Probe (CBI) court dismissing her request for a new investigation into her daughter's murder. Khan filed a petition with the HC, asking for the trial court's judgment to be overturned. Despite wanting to undertake a further investigation, CBI did not contest the special court's ruling.

NCLAT Declines Amazon's Appeal Against Order Passed By CCI For Suspending FCPL Deal Approval

National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) dismissed Amazon's appeal against CCI's judgment on June 13. Allahabad HC Rejects Plea To Probe 22 Closed Doors Of Taj Mahal

Allahabad HC rejected a plea filed by Rajneesh Singh, a BJP youth media-in charge, regarding 22 closed doors of the Taj Mahal. On May 12, the HC bench reviewed the petition, seeking to open the doors, and asked for an archeological survey of the doors claiming the presence of Hindu idols. The petitioner also asked for a fact-finding committee to probe the closed doors. However, the court rejected the plea.

Delhi HC Issues Notice On PIL Seeking Review Of Criminal Procedure (Identification) Act

The Delhi High Court has issued a notice to the Central Government over a PIL seeking a review of the Criminal Procedure (Identification) Act, 2022. The petitioner, Harshit Goel, has prayed that Sections 2(1)(a) (iii), 2(1)(b), 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8 of this Act should be declared unconstitutional. The plea argues that bodily integrity is protected under Article 21, and that prisoners are also entitled to it.

Maharashtra Govt Withdraws Juhu Bungalow Demolition Order

The Maharashtra government has pulled its order of demolition of unauthorized construction that was issued on Union Minister Narayan Rane's Juhu bungalow. In addition, a division bench of Justices A A Sayed and M S Karnik was hearing a plea filed by Rane through his company. ''The Order is passed without any jurisdiction or powers and in an arbitrary, perverse and illegal manner," stated the plea.

NCB Seeks 90-Day Extension To File Chargesheet In Aryan Khan's Case

A special court on March 30, under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, will hear a plea by Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in Aryan Khan's case. In addition, the NCB is seeking an additional 90-day time from the special court to file a charge sheet in the case. SC To Declare Verdict On Pegasus Snooping Matter On Oct 27

The Supreme Court is set to declare its verdict on several pleas demanding an independent probe in connection with the pegasus snooping matter on October 27. The court had reserved its order on the pleas on September 13 after receiving the Centre's response. However, the Centre had denied filing a detailed affidavit. Reportedly, government agencies are accused of using Israeli spyware Pegasus to spy on eminent personalities.
