After the Sri Lankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa resigned, the island went under curfew on May 9. Sri Lankan President Rajapaksa Agrees To Replace Prime Minister
After a long protest of citizens, the Sri Lankan president Gotabaya Rajapaksa has finally agreed to replace the Sri Lankan PM Mahinda Rajapaksa, who is also his older brother. The decision was taken on April 29, in order to solve a political impasse caused by the country’s worst economic crisis, confirmed a lawmaker. Furthermore, a national council will be appointed to name a new PM and Cabinet after a meeting.
