In Goa, a 50-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping a minor girl, confirmed police on June 1. The accused posed as a "Tantrik" to allegedly rape the 14-year-old minor.  He took the girl at his residence under the pretext of getting all her wishes in life fulfilled. Based on the complaint of victim's father, the police registered a case and arrested the accused, and victim's mother.

In Tamil Nadu's Tirupattur, a 12-year-old girl delivered a baby boy on May 3, after which the hospital management informed the child welfare committee, social welfare office and police. A neighbour allegedly raped a 13-year-old, when she used to be home alone, for months in Mumbai. The incident came to light, when the victim complained of stomach ache and was found to be five-months pregnant. Victim's parents registered a FIR and police arrested the accused from Mira Road. He has been charged under 376 IPC section and POCSO Act, and will be produced in the court on March 25.

The Bombay High Court granted interim protection to actor Mahesh Manjrekar in case registered under POCSO Act.
