On the occasion of Police Commemoration Day, PM Narendra Modi on Saturday lauded police personnel for their dedication and for guiding citizens through challenges. Police Commemoration Day is observed to pay tributes to police personnel who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty. It was on this day in 1959 that 10 valiant police personnel laid down their lives fighting heavily armed Chinese troops at Hot Springs, Ladakh.

Amit Shah Meets Family Of Police Personnel Died On Duty In J&K

Explosives Plated 2 Months Before In Dantewada Naxal Attack: Police

In the investigation of the Dantewada IED blast bt Maoists, the Chhattisgarh police and special force revealed that the IED was planted at the region, two months back. As per sources, the police confirmed that the planted explosive was missed out during the demining exercise, conducted by the government officials, under the roads ministry. Notably, two days back a massive blast by naxals, killed 10 security personnel in Dantewada.

Chhatisgarh Naxal Attack: 10 Police, 1 Driver Killed

Ten police personnel and a driver were killed in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada district on Wednesday in the worst attack on security forces in the Maoist insurgency-hit central Indian state since April 2021. Furthermore, Police said an improvised explosive device (IED) was used to blow up their vehicle when the policemen were returning from an anti-Maoist operation. Visuals showed the blast left a crater at the scene of the attack.

A Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel was killed and a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan was injured in a terrorist attack. On October, a joint party of CRPF and police in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir confirmed police. The terrorists attacked the joint Naka party of CRPF and police in the Pinglana area of the south Kashmir district and cordoned off the area.

UP CM Cancels Leave Of Police Personnel Till May 4

Uttar Pradesh Government canceled leave of all police personnel in the state till May 4. The decision was taken by CM Yogi Adityanath late on April 18, amid upcoming festivals in UP. 5 Policemen Killed In Fire Attack By Terrorists In Pakistan Region

In the Dera Ismail Khan region, five policemen lost their lives after a terrorist group attacked with a rocket firing on a police van. The incident happened on April 11, near Chowk Yadgar of Dera in Kulachi.  Soon the rocket fire turned into heavy firing, following which they left the area. The firing could be a revenge act, as earlier in April, three terrorist were killed in Dera Ismail Khan.

Road Accident Kills 3 Cops, Leaves 14 Injured In Odisha

Three cops were killed and 14 others injured when a bus carrying them for panchayat poll duty slide off the road and overturned at a village in Nabarangpur district, in Odisha. Notably, the bus was carrying 45 security personnel moving from Nabarangpur to Kosagumuda. the accident occurred when the driver lost control over the wheel. All the injured are shifted to Papadahandi CHC and the district hospital.
