Bomb Hurled Near Atiq Ahmed's Lawyer's Residence In Prayagraj
In the latest development in the Atiq Ahmed murder case, a crude bomb was hurled near the home of deceased gangster-politician Atiq Ahmed's lawyer Daya Shankar Mishra in Prayagraj. As per sources, no casualties were reported in the incident which took place in Katra Gobar Gali. SHO of Kernalganj police station Ram Mohan Rai claimed Atiq's lawyer Dayashankar Mishra was not the target and incident was a fallout of two.

UP Police Registers Case Against Gangster Asad's Encounter
The recent killing of gangster Asad, the son of Atiq Ahmad has triggered a political controversy. On April 13, the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) encountered Asad and another accused in Umesh Pal Murder Case. The opposition said, the intent of the encounter was to kill as the two received more than forty gunshots. A case has been registered against the task force for encounter and investigation launched.

Two Arrested While Carrying 1 Kg Of Drugs In Uttar Pradesh
In Barabanki region, two alleged drug peddlers were arrested, confirmed police. During the search, the police also sized over one kilogram of morphine estimated to be worth Rs 1 crore on April 8. The search was conducted on a tip-off by the Ramsanehighat police, following which the accused, identified as Asharam and Harjeet were arrested from an intersection near Thorthia village. A case has been registered and investigation is underway.

BJP Leader's Wife Killed During Gunfight With Mining Mafia: Uttarakhand
In Uttarakhand, five UP police personnel and a woman were killed while chasing a mining mafia. The tragic incident occurred in an exchange of fire between cops and mafia, on October 12. Moreover, one of the killed in the encounter was BJP leader Gurtaj Bhullar's wife Gurpeet Kaur, following which villagers protested and hostage the police officials. Moreover, a case has also been registered.

23-Year-Old Fake Cop Evading Toll Plaza Money Arrested
In a bizarre incident, a 23-year-old man was arrested by Firozabad police for impersonating a cop and extorting money from vehicle drivers. On October 3, the Uttar Pradesh police said, Mukesh Yadav (23) used to evade toll tax off from Yamuna Expressway near Agra. He was caught after police found his age and physical appearance questionable for the position and investigated to find Yadav, a fraud, evading toll plaza money.

Dalit Minor Girls Murder Case: Postmortem Reports Confirm Rape & Strangulation
In Lakhimpur Dalit minor girls death case, a new development was reported after postmortem confirmed rape and strangulations. On September 15 evening, the postmortem reports arrived, which confirmed rape of the two SC girls, whose bodies were found hanging from tree in the village of Uttar Pradesh. Meanwhile, the police also confirmed to arrest all the six accused in the incident and launch an investigation into the matter.

Bodies Of 2 Minor Girls Found Hanging In Lakhimpur Kheri
In a Lakhimpur Kheri village, Uttar Pradesh, the bodies of two minor girls, belonging to the scheduled caste community, was found hanging on a tree. The villagers and family protested demanding justice for the girls, who were allegedly raped and murdered by three men. The police registered a case and took four accused into custody and launched an investigation. Further details are awaited and will be revealed after the postmortem.

Uttar Pradesh: 8 Months Baby Dies Due To Phone Battery Explosion
In Uttar Pradesh's Bareilly, an eight-month-old baby reportedly died after the battery of a cellphone kept near her exploded. The police confirmed the incident on September 14, saying the keypad phone was kept on charging and already had a swollen battery when it exploded next to the baby. The police condemned the incident and blamed parents' negligence, which caused the unfortunate demise of the baby.

College Bus Rammed Into Truck, 16 Students Injured: Uttar Pradesh
In an accident, 16 students were injured when a school bus overturned after colliding with a truck in Mahoba, Uttar Pradesh, confirmed police on September 14. Notably, Circle Officer (CO) Ram Pravesh Rai said the accident took place on Paswara-Ratauli road in morning hours, when a speeding truck rammed into a bus belonging to Sai Inter College. Three students have been referred to Jhansi Medical College and are critical.

Apex Court Grants Bail To Journalist Siddique Kappan
The Supreme Court granted bail to journalist Siddique Kappan, on September 9. The journalist who was jailed for over two years under the UAPA by UP Police, will finally be out of jail after three days of trial. Furthermore, CJI UU Lalit led Apex Court bench granted bail on conditions like, Kappan cannot leave India and need to appear before local police, and stay away from political activities.
