After the exit of Ghulam Nabi Azad from Congress, as many as 50 leaders in Jammu and Kashmir, announced resignation. The step came as a support to Azad, and include senior leaders like former Jammu and Kashmir deputy chief minister Tara Chand, Abdul Majid Wani, Manohar Lal Sharma, Gharu Ram and former MLA Balwan Singh. They submitted a joint resignation letter to Congress President Sonia Gandhi, on August 30.

Amid the ongoing Sri Lankan crisis, to prevent the protestors from entering into the parliament, army tanks have been deployed in the area. The parliament has been given three layers of protection- police, army and special forces. This has come after protestors stormed the PM's office on July 14. Meanwhile, president Gotabaya Rajapaksa who fled the country, took a Saudi Arabian flight from Maldives to Singapore.

The rebel Shiv Sena MLAs are scheduled to fly to Goa, from Guwahati, Assam, on June 29. In regard to this, 70 rooms have been booked at Taj Convention Hotel, for the MLAs, who will reach Goa by 4:30 pm. Amid the ongoing political crisis in Maharashtra, rebel MLAs led by Eknath Shinde, have named their group as 'Shiv Sena Balasaheb'. The move has come when CM Uddhav Thackeray is conducting a national executive committee meeting virtually. Meanwhile, 38 of the rebel MLAs are camping in Assam's Guwahati. Earlier, CM Uddhav Thackeray has stated that the rebel MLAs "want to break the party".
