As per sources, he is likely to join the BJP at 3 pm today.
Former MP from Congress party Parveen Singh and Congress leader Supriya Aron joined the Samajwadi Party on January 22. The leaders joined the SP in the presence of Party President Akhilesh Yadav in Lucknow. Notably, Assembly elections to the 403 constituencies in Uttar Pardesh will be held in seven phases, starting from February 10. Moreover, the counting of votes will take place on March 10.
A prominent industrialist from Surat and Patidar leader, Mahesh Savani, resigned from the Aam Aadmi Party, on January 17. He announced his resignation from the party citing ''personal reasons''. As per reports, Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia himself had come to Surat to invite him in the political party. Savani refused to join any other political party, as he will reportedly work for social and noble causes.
Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, has tested positive for COVID-19, on January 18. “I've tested positive for COVID with mild symptoms. I have quarantined myself at home and taken all the necessary precautions'', tweeted the Telugu Desam Party chief. He requested everyone who came in close proximity with him to get tested. Congress MLA from Jharkhand Irfan Ansari, made a controversial statement and assured to construct roads "smoother than actress Kangana Ranaut's cheeks". In a self-made video, the politician said, the construction of 14 world-class roads will begin soon in Jamtara. He said, the roads will be used by youth and children of tribal community in Jharkhand.
