Tripura Elections 2023 To 6o Member Assembly Begins
Tripura is all set for the State Assembly elections on February 16. This time, the state is witnessing a three-cornered fight between, the BJP, the Congress and CPI(M). Approximately 28 lakh voters, including over 13.5 lakh women will decide the fate of 259 candidates in the fray. Voting at 3,337 polling stations started at 7 am and will continue till 4 pm, and results will be announced on March 2.

Security Beefed Up Ahead Of Polling In Uttarakhand
The Chief Electoral Officer of Uttarakhand, Sojanya said that the security arrangements have been made at 11,697 polling booths. She further added, all the arrangements and preparations have been made in Uttarakhand. "The polling party has been sent to Uttarkashi and Pithoragarh and the rest will be sent today," said Sojanya. First Phase Of Bihar Panchayat Elections 2021 Kicks Off
Bihar's first phase of panchayat elections begun on September 24 and voting will be conducted in 12 blocks covering ten districts from 7 AM to 5 PM. About 15,328 candidates filed nomination papers but only 858 have been elected unopposed. Ironically, no one filed nomination papers for 72 posts. The counting of votes will be held in the district headquarters. The second phase of voting will start on September 30.

BMC To Add Extra Polling Booths For February 2022 Civic Polls
Keeping the Covid-19 pandemic in mind, BMC will include 4,000 polling booths in addition to the current 7,900 booths for the BMC civic polls scheduled for February 2022. Each booth that previously occupied 1,400-1,500 voters will now occupy 800. “We are charting out a detailed plan for conducting BMC elections given the pandemic. We aim to ensure voters face no inconvenience", Additional Municipal Commissioner, Suresh Kakani said.

Assam: EC Calls For Re-Election At Four Booths After Violence, EVM Malfunction
The Election Commission has confirmed to conduct fresh polls at the four polling booths of Assam's Ratabari, Sonai and Haflong constituencies on April 20. Reportedly, the decision was taken after an EVM was retrieved from a BJP candidate’s wife's car in Ratabari, while a Haflong polling booth showed 171 votes, outnumbering 90 eligible voters. Moreover, three people got injured in a violence at the polling booth in Sonari constituency.
