Breaking! BJP Announces 1st List Of Candidates For MP, Chattisgarh Poll
The BJP on August 17, announced the first lists of candidates for Assembly polls in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh due later this year. This is the first time the BJP has announced the names of candidates even before the Election Commission of India announces the poll dates. The party has announced 21 candidates for the 90-member Chhattisgarh Assembly and 39 for the 230-member Madhya Pradesh House.

Pakistan Govt To Dissolve Parliament, Polls Soon

Karnataka Assembly Elections: Voting Underway, Congress Leads In 117 Seats
Amid the counting of votes for the Karnataka Assembly Elections, the Indian National Congress (INC) complaint of EVMs with the Election Commission of India (ECI) saying it has been received from South Africa. However, the ECI dismissed the charges of the Congress. Meanwhile, the voting for assembly elections is underway. As of now, Congress is leading in 117 seats, whereas BJP is leading in 75 Assembly constituencies.

BJP Releases Manifesto For 2023 Karnataka Elections
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) released its manifesto in poll-bound Karnataka. BJP chief JP Nadda unveiled the manifesto in the presence of Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and party veteran BS Yeddyurappa at 11 am at the party headquarters in Bengaluru. Notably, the Karnataka elections are scheduled to be held in May 10. The major parties in the fray are the Indian National Congress (INC) and BJP.

Delhi CM Kejriwal And Deputy Sisodia To Visit Gujarat
Delhi CM and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) President Arvind Kejriwal, along with Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, is scheduled to visit Gujarat. During the two-day visit, the duo will address a town hall meeting in Himmatnagar, on August 22 and a meeting in Bhavnagar on August 23. " Like Delhi, Gujarat will also have good schools, good hospitals, and Mohalla clinics," said Kejriwal ahead of his visit to poll-bound Gujarat.

Voting Begins For Local Body Elections In Mizoram
Voting has begun for the 25-member Mara Autonomous District Council in Mizoram's Siaha, on May 5. Security has been tightened in the area and strict adherence to Covid-19 protocols are being ensured, said an official. Reportedly, the voting began at 7 am and will go on till 5 pm. Furthermore, 42,342 voters are expected to turn up and decide the fate of 85 candidates.

EC Extends Polling Time By 30 Mins For Phase-1 Bengal Election
During the first phase of West Bengal Assembly polls, the Election Commission has requested to extend the polling time by 30 minutes.
