Police Busts Narco Terror Module With Heroin In Jammu & Kashmir

In Jammu and Kashmir, the police busted a narco-terror module with the recovery of 7 kg heroin, nearly worth Rs 2 crore cash.  Recovered on March 4, the police also seized some arms and ammunition from a drug peddler’s house near the Line of Control (LoC) in the border district of Poonch. The recoveries were from drug peddler Rafi Dhana, who is already in detention.

AK-47 & Pistols Recovered In J&K During Police-Army Joint Operation

In J&K's Poonch area, security forces on February 14 have recovered arms and ammunition, including two pistols and an AK-47 rifle. The search operation was conducted by J&K police along with the Indian army, near the LoC in Deri Dabsi village of Mendhar area. In a joint operation, they recovered one AK-47, two pistols, pistol magazines. However, an FIR has been registered under the relevant arms act.

Terrorist Dies In Encounter Between Security Forces-Militant In Poonch: J&K

On December 14, a terrorist was killed in an encounter between the Indian Army and militants. Broke out in the Behramgala region of Poonch district, the encounter was based on an intelligence input of the of militants in the region. The security officials cordoned off the area and started search operation. However, they recovered one AK-47 rifle, four magazines and pouches by the troops, confirmed the authority.

9 Soldiers Killed So Far In J&K's Anti-Militants Operation

Rashtriya rifles of the Indian army reported that 9 soldiers were killed so far in the search operation in the Poonch district of Jammu & Kashmir. The Indian army started a search operation nearby the forest area of the Poonch district after a group of militants trespassed the Line Of Control (LOC). Reportedly, five soldiers were killed on October 11 and four were killed on October 14.

Army Seizes Arms Wrapped In Polybag Along LoC In Poonch District

In an integrated effort, Indian Army and J&K Police seized two pistols, 70 bullets and two grenades wrapped in a polybag from bushes along the LoC in Dabbi village of Poonch district. The arms were recovered by the forces following the arrest of three terrorists on December 27. Poonch SSP Ramesh Angral said that one of the arrested suspects, Yasmeen Khan, confessed about the arms during interrogation.

2 Pakistani Girls Cross International Border, Enter Kashmir

Two teenage girls from Pakistan Occupied Kashmir unknowingly crossed the international border and entered into Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch sector during the wee hours of December 6. The Indian troops later identified the girls as Laiba and Sana Zabair, residents of Forward Kahuta tehsil of Pakistan. However, the soldiers at the Line of Control saved the girls and have initiated procedures for their repatriation to Pakistan.

J&K: Pakistani Troops Violate Ceasefire; One Indian Soldier Killed

Pakistan on September 30 violated the ceasefire again, killing one Indian soldier and injuring another one. Reportedly, Indian soldier Lance Naik Karnail Singh lost his life after Pakistani Army started firing and rapid shelling of mortars along the Line of Control (LOC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. The injured soldier has been hospitalized. The officials informed that the Indian Army responded appropriately.

Pakistani Troops Violate Ceasefire Along the LOC in J&K's Poonch District

During the early hours of September 5, Pakistani troops opened fire and used intense motor shelling at three sectors along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district. A defense spokesperson informed that the violation of the ceasefire agreement happened across the border in Shahpur, Kirni, and Degwar sectors. He also told that the Indian Army responded appropriately and no casualty took place.
