BJP MP Ravi Kishan, Father Of 4 Calls For Population Control In India
BJP MP Ravi Kishan calls for population control and said, he will introduce a private member's bill on population control in the Lok Sabha, which will resume on July 25. Notably, the Uttar Pradesh Gorakhpur MP Kishan has four children, three daughters and one son. Furthermore, the concern of Ravi Kishan came after a UN report revealed that India is likely to surpass China in terms of population by 2023.

Japan Witnesses Biggest Population Drop On Record
Japan saw a massive drop in population in 2021 as the number dropped by 6,44,000. It is the biggest decline ever recorded in Japanese history. The population in Japan has been dipping for eleven years straight, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications. The ministry explained that the deaths outnumbered the births, and the number of citizens leaving the country was greater than those immigrating to Japan.

Assam Govt All Set To Implement Population Control Policy
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated on June 19 that the Assam government will progressively adopt a two-child policy for receiving benefits under state-funded programs. Sarma talked about recent evictions in three districts and encouraged the minority community to adopt a “decent family planning policy” for population management in order to alleviate poverty, which leads to limited living space and subsequent land encroachment.

Assam CM Asks Muslims To Take Steps Towards Family Planning
Delivering another controversial statement on June 10, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that the Muslim community should take steps towards family planning to control the population. CM Sarma stated, "We can put an end to lot of social problems in Assam if the Muslim community adopts decent family planning norms." Meanwhile, the All India United Democratic Front has called out the CM for targeting "one community".
