One-Year-Old Infant Paralysed Due To Rare Post-Covid Illness

Owing to a rare post-Covid disease, a one-year-old baby has developed "Hemiconvulsion-Hemiplegia-Epilepsy (HHE) syndrome" due to which her right side of the body has been paralyzed. Besides, she developed high fevers and had continuous medication infusions to keep her blood pressure stable. The infant was given intravenous immunoglobulins as well as steroids. However, the infant was moved from the ventilator and his health is improvising.

Bengal: Doctors In Kolkata Fear Over Rising MIS-C In Children

As the COVID-19 cases in West Bengal continue to fall, cases of multi-system inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C) has caused a major worry among doctors in Kolkata. With many turning out to be severe, doctors now fear MIS-C cases might continue to rise sharply in the coming weeks. Reportedly, the condition reported 2-6 weeks after COVID recovery is said to be caused by delayed immune response to COVID-19.

GST Collections At All-Time High Of Over Rs 1.15 Lakh Crore In December
