Massive Fire Breaks Out At Chemical Plant In Mohali, 5 Injured

In Punjab's Mohali region, a massive fire broke out at a chemical factory, on September 27. According to reports, at least 5 workers were injured in the blaze, while many are feared to have faced burn injuries. Out of the injured, two have been admitted to Mohali Civil Hospital and three to nearby Civil Hospital. More than 20 fire tenders from the Mohali and Ropar districts rushed to the spot.

Centre Asks Power Plants To Import 10% Coal To Boost Supply

The central government has asked the power plants to add 10% of the imported coal to boost the supply, amid the ongoing coal crisis. It also warned the states that federal companies will curb their power supplies if they are found selling electricity on power exchanges to cash in on surging prices. Over half of India’s 135 coal-fired power plants have fuel stocks that will last three days or less.

Winning International Bid India's SJVN To Build 697-MW Project In Nepal

The Lower Arun Hydro Electric Project in Nepal will be constructed by the Indian government-owned Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited, stated the Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. Reportedly, the 679 MW power plant was acquired by India after participating at international competitive bidding that included competitors like China. Once completed, the plant located in Sankhuwasabha will generate 3561 million units of electricity per annum.
