Pregnant Women Travels For Delivery Due To Lack Of Roads
As per reports, a pregnant woman from Jharkhand had to go all the way to Chhattisgarh because she couldn't access healthcare facilities in her village. "We called up Jharkhand's helpline number for a pregnant woman but we were told that they won't be able to help us in the absence of the road,'' stated a local resident. Notably, the Deputy Commissioner of Gumla district is looking into the matter.

COVID Positive Pregnant Women Can Give Normal Births: Study
In a study published in the "Journal of Perinatal Medicine", researchers have found that women infected with COVID-19 during pregnancy, can give normal births. Reportedly, the study was conducted on 33 publicly insured women and their infants. ''At 6-month follow-up, we observed normal growth patterns and developmental milestones,'' said Malika Shah, senior author of the study. The results are said to be reassuring for pregnant women.

Pregnant Vaccinated Women Pass Antibodies To Newborns: Study
Pregnant women who get mRNA-based COVID-19 vaccine transmit high levels of antibodies to their newborns, said a study published in the ''American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology MFM''. It revealed that 36 newborns whose mothers got either Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccine during pregnancy have protective antibodies at delivery. Covid Positive Mothers May Continue To Breastfeed Their Babies: Health Ministry
According to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Covid positive mothers can breastfeed their children without the fear of transmitting the virus. However, precautions like wearing of a mask and maintaining a six-feet distance after feeding the baby are necessary. Gynaecologist and Obstetrician Dr Manju Puri said that vaccinating a pregnant or lactating mother may protect the newborn to some degree.

Poland's New Abortion Law Draws Women Protestors
A horde of Polish women gathered to protest against the new abortion laws which were implemented by ruling party (PiS). The new rule has banned the abortion of malformed feotus, which counted for 98% of legal abortions in the previous year. UP: Husband Murders Pregnant Woman, Throws Body into Ganga Canal
Muzaffarnagar Police on September 5 said that a pregnant woman, identified as Neha, was thrown into the Ganga canal after she was strangulated to death by her husband and in-laws. Reportedly, the victim's husband, Kamal, has confessed the crime.
