Sven Botman Completes Move From Lille To Newcastle United
Sven Botman has finalized his transfer from Lille to Premier League club Newcastle United. The 22-year-old has signed a five-year deal with the club. He is Eddie Howe's third summer signing, after the arrivals of Matt Targett and Nick Pope last month. The Badhoevedorp-born player had his physical on Tyneside earlier this week, and the legalities of the transfer were finalized on July 1.

The UK government has approved Todd Boehly's proposed purchase of Chelsea Football Club. Nadine Dorries, the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media, and Sport, revealed she had given a license allowing the agreement on May 24, shortly after it was approved by Premier League. In early March, he put the London club up for sale following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, which Moscow refers to as a "special military operation."
