Women's Reservation Bill Gets Approval Of President Murmu, Becomes Law

President of India Droupadi Murmu gave assent to the Women's Reservation Bill, which has now become a law. Tabled by the BJP-led Central Government, the Women's Reservation Bill was approved by the Rajya Sabha and the Lok Sabha recently. After passing with a majority of 450 votes, the bill, ensuring 33% reservation for tirbals, SC/ST and OBC women in politics, was sent to the President of India for her approval.

Droupadi Murmu Highlights Difficulties Of Prisoners Under Trials

During the inauguration of the Jharkhand HC building, the President of India Droupadi Murmu, highlighted the issue of prisoners under trial. Speaking of access to justice, she spoke about the rising number of cases are a burden to courts, as many cases are still pending, Prisoners and accused are crowding jails, as they are undertrials. Supreme Court Gets 2 HC Judges, Total Strength Regains At 34

Justice Rajesh Bindal, currently Chief Justice of Allahabad HC and Justice Aravind Kumar, Chief Justice of Gujarat HC, have been appointed as the Supreme Court (SC) judges. With this new addition, the total strength of the Apex Court judges increased to 34. "As per the provisions under the Constitution of India, Hon'ble President of India has appointed the judges of the SC, said Law Minister Kiren Rijijiu.

Draupadi Murmu Will Visit Odisha For 2-Days Visit

President of India Draupadi Murmu is scheduled to have a two-day visit to Odisha, starting on February 10. During the visit, President Murmu will attend the second convocation of Rama Devi Women's University. It is to be noted, Draupadi Murmu completed her education at Rama Devi Women's University in 1979, and expressed ger will to attend the convocation. President Droupadi Murmu will visit London to attend the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II and offer condolences on behalf of the Indian government.
