President Kovind Praises Lovlina Borgohain For Winning Bronze In Olympics
President Ram Nath Kovind praised Lovolina Borgohain for clinching bronze in the women's welterweight category (64-69Kg) on August 4 at Tokyo Olympics. He posted on Twitter saying, "Congratulations to Lovolina Borgohain! With your hard work and dogged determination, you have done the nation proud. This will be inspiring to many young women". Borgohain won bronze after being defeated by Turkey's Buzenas Surmeneli at the Olympics.

50-Year-Old Dies In Ambulance Due To Traffic Held After President's Visit
A blockade set up for President Kovind's visit allegedly led to a woman's death as she was stuck in traffic in an ambulance for two hours. A 50-year-old, Vandana Mishra was suffering from post-Covid complications. "There was a lot of traffic. Several roads were blocked because of his visit to Kanpur," said Mishra's husband. However, the President after knowing about the incident sought forgiveness and expressed grief over the death.
