Presidential Elections

The National Democratic Alliance's Presidential candidate Droupadi Murmu is conducting campaigns for the upcoming Presidential elections on July 18.  For this campaign, Murmu will meet BJP MLAs and MPs in Goa on July 14. As per sources, she will arrive in Panaji and meet BJP and opposition leaders, seeking support for the elections. Notably, the Goa Assembly House has 40 MLAs, of which 50% MLAs are of BJP.

Tribal leader Droupadi Murmu filed nomination papers, as the presidential candidature of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA.) The Election Commission of India is soon to announce the dates for the Presidential elections.  The ECI panel has organized a press conference at 3 pm, on June 9 to announce the schedule. Notably, President Ram Nath Kovind's term is due to end on July 24. The electoral college members will elect the new President of India. The last presidential elections were held on July 17, 2017.
