Cabinet Accedes Puducherry L-G's Proposal To Impose President's Rule

SC Rejects 'President's Rule' Plea Claiming Poor Law & Order In UP
The Supreme Court on February 8 rejected a petition asking imposition of President's rule in Uttar Pradesh. Reportedly, the plea filed by petitioner CR Jaya Sukin had alleged that crime against minorities and Dalits have increased amidst deteriorating law and order situation in the state. Demanding a valid proof on the allegations, the bench headed by CJI SA Bobde warned the petitioner of imposing fines if he argued further.
