UP BJP Minister Rakesh Sachan Receives One Year Jail Sentence In Connection With Arms Act Case
Rakesh Sachan, the MSME Minister in Yogi Adityanath's Uttar Pradesh government, was convicted to one year in prison in the 1991 Arms Act case by a Kanpur court on August 9. Sachan is the Uttar Pradesh government's director of medium, small, and micro companies, as well as khadi. Sachan left the Congress soon before the assembly elections earlier this year and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Thailand, First Asian Country To Legalize Marijuana For Medical Purposes Only
Thailand decriminalized marijuana growing and possession on June 9. Thailand is Asia's first country to legalize marijuana. Uruguay and Canada are the only nations that have legalized recreational marijuana on a national level so far. The government stated that it is solely pushing cannabis for medical purposes, warning people who want to smoke for pleasure can face a three-month prison sentence and a fine of 25,000 Thai baht.

Supreme Court Decreases Personal Bond Value Of 2 Accused In Cheating Cases
Supreme Court has decided to lower the value of the personal bond of two defendants, Ramkrishna Premchand Dubey and Satishchandra Bhagwatiprasad Mishra, who were each sentenced to three years in prison in connection with 26 different cases of cheating. The personal bond sum has been decreased to Rs 50,000 per person. Britain Gets Its First Smart Prisons, Details Explained
Britain gets its first smart prison with no bars on windows which was opened on March 4. UK's Department of Justice (DoJ) added this to be the first jail in the country to drive down crime and lead the offenders into training for jobs. The jail has a capacity to hold 1700 prisoners which will include a gym, table tennis, snooker table and a computer tablet.

Bahrain Court Imprisons 30-Year-Old Woman Accused Of Polyandry
A 30-year-old gulf woman has been imprisoned for 11 years by the Bahrain Court for marrying three men simultaneously without obtaining a divorce. Reportedly, the woman has been accused of cheating all three men and acquired a dowry amount of Rs 11,16,635 from all her husbands. However, the lady claims that she had obtained a divorce from her ex-husband but was found to be incorrect.
