ADEK Recognizes Indian-Origin Teacher And Honours With 'Best Teacher' Award

Greeshma Rajesh Anil Kumar, the 35-year-old computer science teacher in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates, has been awarded the best teacher award.  Kumar, an Indian-origin teacher has been awarded by the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) for his dedication and contribution to education in Abu Dhabi. Notably, Greeshma Rajesh Anil Kumar is a teacher at Mayoor Private School.

Exam Cancelled, Pvt School Manager Arrested Following Question Paper Leak: UP

A private school manager was arrested in connection with the English question paper leak case on April 2 in Uttar Pradesh. The police identified the man as Bhanu Pratap Singh. "He is accused of sharing the leaked question paper. His role in leaking the question paper is also being looked into," the DSP said. As a result, the English examination is currently cancelled in 24 districts of the state.

SC Refuses Private Schools From Levying Annual Fees & Development Charges

The Delhi High Court's decision of letting unaided private schools in Delhi levy annual fees and developmental charges on students, was refused on June 28 by the Supreme Court. The Delhi High Court had overturned the Delhi government’s orders of April and August 2020 stopping private schools from charging annual charges and development fees. Parents and students had pleaded on grounds of high fluctuation in fees and not using resources.

SC Orders 15% Reduction In Fees Of 36,000 Private Schools In Rajasthan

In view of the ongoing pandemic, the Supreme Court on May 3 ordered 36,000 private schools in Rajasthan to provide 15% discount on school fees for the session 2020-21. The court stated students can pay the amount concerned in six installments before August 5, 2021 with further possible concessions. It also warned that no student should be barred from attending classes and results should not be withheld over fee payment.

Fees reduction ordered by Calcutta High Court

Calcutta High Court Slashes Private School Fees By 20%

As a response to a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by guardian forum of 145 schools, The Calcutta High Court ordered a 20% fee reduction in schools' tuition fees.  Reportedly, the deduction will apply to all the non-government aided schools in the state. The court also appointed a 3-member committee to monitor the order. Moreover, the court ordered that there will be no salary hike for teachers and staff members.
