SC Declines Stay On Bombay HC Acquitting Orders Of Professor GN Saibaba
The Supreme Court refused to stay the Bombay High Court order acquitting Delhi University Professor GN Saibaba in a case relating to his alleged Maoist link. On October 14, hours after the Bombay HC order, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) moved the Supreme Court for stay which was declined. However, the apex court, however, allowed the NIA to move an application before the registry requesting for urgent listing.

Bombay HC Acquitts Ex DU Professor GN Saibaba In Maoist Link Case
The Nagpur bench of the Bombay High Court acquitted former Delhi University professor GN Saibaba in an alleged Maoist links case. On October 14, the bench reviewed his case and ordered his immediate release from jail. Notably, GN Saibaba was arrested in Maoist Link Case in 2017, after a trial court convicted Saibaba for his alleged links. Saibaba, who is on wheel-chair is lodged in Nagpur Prison Jail.
