SC Issues Interim Protection Orders For Times Now Anchor Navika Kumar

Times Now News Anchor Navika Kumar has been given interim protection by the Supreme Court. On August 8, the Top Court reviewed a petition filed by Kumar against multiple FIRs, legal notices against her over the prophet remark of suspended BJP Spokesperson Nupur Sharma on their channel. As per the SC bench led by Justices Krishna Murari and Hima Kohli issued the orders, protecting Kumar from legal FIRs.

Nupur Sharma Gets Interim Relief From Arrest In Prophet Remark, SC

Nupur Sharma has been granted interim protection from arrests in the Mohammed Prophet remark case, registered in various cities in India. On July 19, the Supreme Court reviewed her petition, seeking a stay on arrest and directed police for no coercive action to be initiated against her in the FIRs, registered over the controversial remark. Furthermore, the Apex Court also adjourned the matter to August 10.

ISIS Claimed Grenade Attack In Afghanistan Gurdwara Amid Prophet Remark

The Islamic State's Khorasan Province (IS-KP) conducted an attack on a Gurdwara in Afghanistan, as a revenge attack against the BJP leader's remark against Prophet Mohammad. ISIS claimed the attack and "Saturday's attack targeted Hindus and Sikhs and the "apostates" who protected them in "an act of support for the Messenger of Allah". In the attack, two people died, whereas seven people were left injured.

SC Questions Demolition In UP, Asks Govt To Stop Process & File Reply

Supreme Court reviewed a petition filed against the demolition in Uttar Pradesh, and said, no demolition should be carried out by the Yogi Adityanath-led Government. On June 16, SC bench AS Bopanna and Vikram Nath asked the State Government to file a counter reply, explaining how the demolition process is being carried out as per municipal law and order, within next three days.
