PT Usha Slams Wrestlers' Protest Against WFI Chief
The ongoing public protest by wrestlers alleging sexual harassment by Wrestling Federation India boss Brijbhushan Sharan Singh has been strongly criticized by PT Usha, the chief of Indian Olympic Association. Philanthropist D Veerendra Heggade Swears In As New Rajya Sabha MP
Renowned philanthropist D Veerendra Heggade took oath as a new member of the Rajya Sabha, on July 21. He is also the administrator of the Dharmasthala temple in Karnataka's Dakshina Kannada district. Besides Heggade, legendary music composer Ilayaraja, athlete PT Usha and screenwriter V Vijayendra Prasad also sworn in as new Rajya Sabha members. Notably, Heggade was honoured with the prestigious Padma Bhushan award in 2015.

PT Usha To Take Oath As Rajya Sabha MP
Former Indian athlete PT Usha is scheduled to take oath as Rajya Sabha MP on July 19. PT Usha, who was born in Kerala's Kozhikode, has been an inspiration for girl children across the country. Reportedly, Usha and legendary music composer Ilayaraja, were not able to make it to the oath taking ceremony on July 18. In 1984 Olympics, Usha finished fourth in women's 400m hurdles.
