Diwali Declared As Public School Holiday In New York
In good news for the residents living in New York, the authorities declared Diwali as a school holiday. The decision was taken considering more than 2 lakh residents of New York, who celebrate Diwali. "This is a city that’s continuously changing, continuously welcoming communities from all over the world," said Eric Adam, the Mayor of New York, USA. Furthermore, in 2023, Diwali will be celebrated on November 14.

Punjab Govt Declares Public Holiday On March 23: Shaheed Diwas
The AAP led Punjab government has declared a public holiday on March 23, on the occasion of Shaheed Diwas. Notably, the deaths of freedom fighters like Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev Thapar, and Shivaram Rajguru is marked as Shaheed Diwas or Martyr's Day. Notably, the Punjab government also passed a resolution to install statues of Bhagat Singh and Babasaheb Ambedkar in the State Assembly.

CM Yogi Declares Public Holidays To Celebrate Chhath & Kartik Purnima
In the biggest development, CM Yogi Adityanath on November 9 declared two public holidays in Uttar Pradesh. He announced the holidays on Chhath (November 10) and Kartik Purnima (November 19). CM Yogi also directed officials to give permission to people to organize fairs at ease. Notably, various fairs will be organised on November 19 in different districts such as Varanasi, Ballia, Kanpur, Etah, Rae Bareli, Bareilly.

Punjab Declares Public Holiday On April 8; Guru Nabha Dass Ji's Birth Anniversary
The Punjab government has declared a public holiday on April 8 in-order to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nabha Das Ji. According to the announcement, all the government offices and schools will remain shut. Goswami Guru Nabha Dass Mahasha Sewa Samiti Pathankot's chief organiser Purushottam Bhajura said, considering 30 lakh followers of the saint in the state, April 8 should be declared as a gazetted holiday.
