Public Sector Banks To Conduct Credit Outreach Programmes In All Districts
As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebration, public sector banks are scheduled to conduct a credit outreach programme on June 8, in all districts across the state. With this, the customers and public at large, could clarify their queries on credit facilities and enrolment in various government schemes. Under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, a week-long celebration of Ministry of finance is underway, during June 6-12.

Govt Bank Employees Seek Jobs At Bigger Banks Amidst Privatisation
Several banking staffs & employees of the govt banks are seeking jobs at a bigger public sector banks due to the Niti Aayog's report of shortlisting banks for privatisation. However, the others are waiting for a 'Voluntary Retirement Scheme' which is expected to be launched by the management. According to reports, Niti Aayog is planning to provide job security for a year post-privatisation.

Bank Unions Oppose Privatisation Of 2 PSBs, Call For 2 Day Strike
Opposing Centre’s decision to privatise two public sector banks, the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) on February 9 called for a two-day strike starting from March 15. Reportedly, this year's Budget witnessed the FinMin stipulating the privatisation of two PSBs under its disinvestment strategy. Indian Private Banks to Gain Higher Market Shares; Predicts Fitch Ratings
Large and mid-sized private banks in India are predicted to gain higher market shares compared to the public banks in the medium term. A credit rating agency by the name "Fitch Ratings", predicted the statement on September 3. It stated that private banks witnessed an annual growth of 19.6%, compared to 8.5% of the public banks. It further stated that state banks were constrained by unpaid loans, larger losses, and weaker capitalization.
