Aadhaar Data Breach Allegation On Puducherry BJP Credible: Madras HC
The Madras High Court on April 1 held that BJP’s Puducherry unit breached and misused Aadhaar data in its election campaign. Listening to a PIL, the HC confirmed that BJP sent campaign-related messages to only Aadhaar-linked mobile numbers. While the BJP’s Puducherry unit and UIDAI has denied using and lending numbers for political use, the court ordered the Aadhaar regulatory body to answer why the data breach was not avoided.

Puducherry: BJP, AIADMK, NR Congress Ink Seat-Share
Ahead of the Puducherry assembly elections slated for April 6, the BJP, AIADMK and regional political party All India N.R Congress (AINRC) have inked a seat-sharing agreement. Out of the total 30 seats, NRC will contest 16 seats whereas BJP and AIADMK got 14 seats to contest. Puducherry To Face Floor Test Ahead Of Assembly Polls On Feb 22
Following the resignation of MLAs from the ruling government, the Union Territory of Pudducherry will witness a floor test on February 22. The floor test would determine the majority of the ruling government. Currently, members of the ruling and the opposition stand at 14 in the 33 member assembly. While Puducherry BJP President urged Chief Minister V Narayanaswamy, the latter in turn accused the BJP of toppling the government.
