The birth anniversary of the iron man of India, Sardar Vallabhai Patel is celebrated on October 31. Meanwhile, floral tribute was paid to Patel by Puducherry CM N Rangasamy, Speaker R Selvam, legislators, and others at the Gandhi Square on Goubert Avenue. Further, in order to celebrate 'National Unity Day', CM also flagged off a unity run. Besides, He inspected a guard of honor, present by the Puducherry police.

10Kg Rice & 2Kg Sugar To Be Distributed By Puducherry Govt For Diwali
On the occasion of Diwali, family cardholders in Puducherry will be receiving 10 kilogram of rice and 2 kilogram of sugar from the government. According to sources, it will be distributed free of cost through Fair Price Shops. However, the government previously allowed decrease in the price of firecrackers. Furthermore, Papsco, a government agency, has set up shops in the union territory, selling crackers at a low rate.
