AAP Wins 32 Assembly Seats, Leads In Over 59 Seats In Punjab 2022 Elections

Arvind Kejriwal's AAP is winning in major seats against prominent leaders of the BJP and the Congress. AAP CM candidate Bhagwant Mann and leaders like Gurmeet khuddian, Labh Singh Ugoke and Jeewan Jyot Kaur, won against the opposition.  AAP is now leading in over 59 seats and won a total of 32 seats in Punjab. Furthermore, as per the ECI sources, with the winning trend, AAP would form Punjab Government.

Conjoined Twins Cast Votes As 2 Individuals: Punjab Assembly Elections

Conjoined twins cast two votes at Amritsar polling booth in Punjab Assembly elections, on February 20.  The twins were given dark goggles to maintain secrecy. In a unique case, the EC confirmed that the votes would be counted as two, and to be fair, the EC officers stationed at polling booth 101, Manwal area videographed the voting process. Notably, Sohna and Mohna are conjoined twins from Amritsar, Punjab.

Punjab Will Never Accept Arvind Kejriwal & AAP: Anurag Thakur

The BJP Union Minister Anurag Thakur, on February 18, took a dig at the Arvind Kejriwal led Aam Aadmi Party. Ahead of the Punjab Assembly elections, Thakur said, "Several members of AAP who were also the founding members levelled serious allegations against Arvind Kejriwal. And he has not responded yet". He also termed AAP as "Arvind Anti Punjab". He added, Punjab people will never accept them over the BJP Government.

Punjab CM's Nephew Under 14-Day Judicial Custody For Illegal Sand Mining

Ahead of Punjab Assembly elections scheduled on February 20, the nephew of CM Charanjit Singh Channi has been sent into 14-day judicial custody. On February 11, Bhupinder S Honey was accused of illegal sand mining and was arrested by Enforcement Directorate (ED) on February 3. During the raid conducted, ED recovered Rs 10 crore cash, gold worth Rs 21 lakh and a Rolex watch worth Rs 12 lakh.

Punjab School Association Protests Against Govt, Says Will Not Vote If Schools Not Reopened

Punjab school teachers and parents, staged protest, over closed schools and educational institutions. Notably, on February 5, they said, if the Punjab Government doesn't reopen schools, they will not vote. The protest carried out under Punjab Unaided School Association.  Approximately 100 people stood and staged protest, asking the Punjab Government to lift ongoing restrictions, which has been in place till February 8.

AAP Candidate Bhagwant Mann To Contest From Dhuri Constituency: Punjab Polls

Bhagwant Mann, the 'CM Candidate' of the Aam Aadmi Party, will contest the Punjab Assembly election from Dhuri constituency.  Addressing the media, AAP senior leader Raghav Chadha announced the same.  Reportedly, Bhagwant Mann is a two time Lok Sabha member and CM candidate as per public's choice. Notably, the Dhuri Assembly constituency in Sangrur district is currently represented by Congress MLA Dalvir Singh Goldy.
