Amarnath Pilgrimage Registration Begins From April 11, Yatra In June

The Amarnath Yatra, which is scheduled from June 30, started its registration. Devotees can register themselves at 316 branches of Punjab National Bank across India.  Registration this year is for Rs 120 per person. However, those who registered last year, need to pay Rs 20 extra. In addition, people below 13-year-old and above 75-year-old are not eligible for the Amarnath Yatra, which will commence on August 11.

UK HC Permits Nirav Modi To Appeal Against Extradition To India

Fugitive diamond merchant Nirav Modi's appeal against his extradition to India has been granted by the UK High Court on mental health and human rights grounds. His lawyer pleaded to the UK high court that his extradition could cause serious health problems concerning "severe depression" and "suicide". Modi defrauded the Indian government for over $2 billion and has been held at Wandsworth Prison in London since 2019.

PNB Recovers Rs 24 Cr from USA in Nirav Modi Scam

Punjab National Bank (PNB) informed the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) on receiving USD 3.25 million as the first transaction of recoveries in the Nirav Modi case from the USA, the Central Government informed on August 25. The Ministry has initiated proceedings to recover the amount in Nirav Modi and Mehul Choksi scam. PNB has asked MCA to help them in the bankruptcy proceedings in New York.
