China Reports First Case Of Monkeypox Virus

China has reported its first case of the Monkeypox virus in the southwest city of Chongqing. Reportedly, the patient was already under COVID-19 quarantined following an international travel. The Chinese authorised have not disclosed the details of the patient, as to name, age and sex. The officials stated that the patient is being isolated and provided with adequate treatment. Further details are awaited.

Belgium, The First Country To Impose A Mandatory 21-Day Monkeypox Quarantine

Belgium is the first European country to impose a 21-day quarantine for monkeypox patients. This follows the discovery of the first monkeypox case in Switzerland on May 21. Currently, 14 countries, including four in Belgium, have reported recurrent outbreaks of the virus. All of the incidents were traced back to a festival in Antwerp, Belgium's port city.

IPL Teams To Begin Practice For 15th Edition In Mid March: BCCI

IPL teams are set to begin practice for the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) from March 14-15, confirmed BCCI, after a meeting with the Maharashtra Government. All the 10 IPL teams are likely to reach Mumbai by March and will follow a 5-day mandatory quarantine. All the players will undergo RT-PCR tests thrice, on different days, following which they will enter their respective bubbles.

Tollywood Megastar Chiranjeevi on January 26, took to Twitter to announce that he has tested positive for Covid-19. "Dear all, Despite all precautions, I have tested Covid-19 Positive with mild symptoms last night and am quarantining at home," Chiranjeevi wrote.
