Kerala Seeks SC Permission To Kill Violent, Rabies Infected Cannines
The state government of Kerala seeked permission from the Supreme Court of India to kill violent rabies-infected dogs. Meanwhile, Minister for local self governments MB Rajesh informed that the state will conduct a massive vaccine drive to vaccinate stray dogs. The drive is scheduled to be conducted between September 20 and October 20. This has come after the death toll started to increase due to stray dog bites.

Elderly Woman Succumbs To Rabies Infection Despite Being Vaccinated: Kerala
In Kerala’s Kozhikode, a 53-year-old woman has succumbed to suspected Rabies infection, informed sources on August 22. The deceased identified as P Chandrika, was intact vaccinated against Rabies infection. Reportedly, she was bitten by a dog on her face, on July 21. It was revealed that the dog had also bitten seven others in the same locality. Her final test reports are yet to be revealed.

Bhopal Woman, A Rabies Suspect Die At State-Run Hospital
In Bhopal, P Chandrika (53) died of suspected rabies infection in nearby Perambra, even after she took the necessary vaccination, confirmed government sources. Notably, Chandrika, a resident of Randeyaaru was bitten by a dog on her face on July 21. She was admitted to the Government Medical College hospital, and died on August 20, due to health complications. However, it is yet to be known if Chandrika was rabies infected.

10 School Children Bitten By Rabies Infected Dog: Uttar Pradesh
In Uttar Pradesh's Shamli district, as many as ten school children were bitten by a rabies infected dog while they were going to school in Jahanpur village. The incident reportedly took place on December 3 and four children were sent to the hospital, identified as Sadik (4), Mahak (4), Insha (10), and Shyam (7). Furthermore, the dog was killed by the "angry" villagers.

Boy Dies From Rabies; Had Concealed Truth From Parents
Arjun, an 11-year-old boy who was bitten by a stray dog in Punjab's Ludhiana died due to rabies on July 25. Reportedly, after being bitten by the dog, Arjun told his parents that he got injured while playing. However, when his condition worsened, his family consulted a witch doctor instead of a hospital. Eventually, they went to a hospital but he died within a few hours there.
