Honda India Talent Hunt Resumes With Round 3; Aspiring Racers Compete In Hyderabad
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt Ltd resumed the Honda India Talent Hunt by conducting round three. After going through rigourous levels of tests, eight riders from six cities competed in round three, in Hyderabad. Reportedly, all the riders were aged 16-17. Senior Vice President Prabhu Nagraj said, this "is a platform developed by Honda that gives an avenue to aspiring racers from all over India".

Amid COVID-19 Rise, Bullock Cart Races Cancelled: Pune
Amid rise in COVID-19 cases and Omicron threat, the administration in Pune cancelled two bullock cart races, scheduled to be held on January 1. The races were to be held in Nanoli, and were cancelled following the order issued by concerned Collector. Moreover, Pune district on January 1, reported 631 COVID-19 cases, and two deaths, taking the tally to 11,65,217 and the toll to 19,249, respectively.

World Record For Gudaf Tsegay In Women's Indoor 1500 Metres
Ethiopian sprinter Gudaf Tsegay has become the world champion by breaking a world record in the Women's indoor 1500 meters in a meet at Lievin. The 24-year-old posted a time of 3 minutes, 53.9 seconds, two seconds quicker than the previous record. After the feat, the sprinter said, "I'm not really surprised. I worked to do that." Previously, the record was held by Genzebe Dibaba in 2014.

British F1 Racer Lewis Hamilton Signs 1 Year Contract With Mercedes
Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton has signed a one-year contract with Mercedes on February 9. While Hamilton's contract expired in December 2020 and was a free agent until now, the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Team expressed gratitude by welcoming and continuing in 2021. Meanwhile, the 36-year-old British F1-racer is eyeing for a victory in a unique eighth world title, as he will contest in the upcoming season starting in March at Bahrain.
