After being reinstated as the MP, former Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is all set to contest the 2024 National Elections. On August 18, UP Chief Ajay Rai said, Gandhi will definitely contest from Amethi in the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha polls. After a comeback in the Lok Sabha, the opposition has nominated former Congress President Rahul Gandhi in the parliamentary standing committee defence of the opposition. Congress MP Amar Singh too has been nominated to the committee, according to a Lok Sabha bulletin. He said, PM Modi joked and mocked the situation, in the two-hour long Parliament speech.

In the Parliament, the Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi gave a flying kiss, while walking out of the parliament, after his Manipur speech. Reacting to this, Irani said, "Such undignified conduct was never before seen in the Parliament of the country." Meanwhile, women's association is likely to register a case.
