The Enforcement Directorate on Wednesday conducted searches at AAP MP Sanjay Singh's residence in connection with a money laundering case linked to the alleged Delhi excise policy scam. The raids were carried out a day after a court allowed two accused in the case to turn approver. Some other premises of linked people were also being covered, confirmed sources. The National Investigation Agency carried out a major raid at 50 locations across six in connection to Khalistan-Gangster nexus. According to sources, raids were done to nab hawala operators and logistic coordinators of gangsters, who have links with Khalistan. In Maharashtra's Thane region, a hookah parlour was raided by the local Police. The hookah parlour was functioning at Teen Haath Naka allegedly for past two years, which the police had no idea about. Around 13 customers along with staff were apprehended from the place operational near a college in Thane. The hookah joint was full of customers, and 13 customers were caught smoking shisha in the parlour.
The Income Tax Department on Friday conducted raids on premises linked to the Mumbai-based Kalpataru builders over alleged tax evasion. The raids were conducted on around 30 premises across four states. Significantly, the residences of Kalptaru group founder Mofatraj Munot and MD Parag Munot were also raided by the tax department. The National Investigative Agency (NIA) busted a racket of ISIS Module, working in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, after a raid. According to NIA, Syed Mamoor Ali had created a local group by the name of ‘Fisbilillah’ and was also operating a WhatsApp group by the same name. Along with his associates, he was trying to procure pistols and was in contact with a Jabalpur-based illegal arms supplier for this purpose.
