Smriti Irani Wants To Change 7 Railway Station Names In Amethi, Writes To Railway Minister

Ahead of the 2024 National Elections, Union Minister Smriti Irani wrote a letter to the Indian Railway Minister, demanding change of station names. Dates October 21, in the letter, Irani sought name change for stations in Amethi;  Kasimpur should be changed to Jayas City. 2. Jayas to Guru Gorakhnath. 3. Bani to Swami Paramhans. Misrauli to Maa Kalikan, Nihalgarh to Maharaj Bijli Pasi, and two others, to the Indian Railways.

Bharat Gaurav Trains Can Be Operated By Pvt. Sector; IRCTC

Bharat Gaurav trains, which were established to increase tourism in the nation, can be run by private operators according to railways minister Ashwini Vaishnaw (IRCTC). The minister stated that any tour agency may take as many trains as they want based on their business model and alter according to their tour plan. Moreover the govt. will provide support in the areas of maintenance, parking, water supply, and food supplies as needed.

Railway To Redevelop 150 Stations In India: Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw

While speaking in Rajasthan's Jodhpur, Railway Minister Ashwini Vasihnaw, on October 3, said we have planned to redevelop as many as 150 railway stations and to connect 300 stations with a high-speed corridor in India. The first phase of the redevelopment work will start from Rajasthan where eight stations will be redeveloped. ''PM Narendra Modi has given me this responsibility...I would try my best,'' Vasihnaw said.

Maha: Railway Employee's Dare Saves A Child Fallen On Railway Track

A quick response by a railway official saved the life of a child at Maharashtra's Vangani railway station. Reportedly, the child fell on the railway track with train approaching on same track. Risking his life, railway pointsman Mayur Shelke rushed towards the child recuing him just in time. Sharing the rescue video, Railway minister Piyush Goyal assuring rewards tweeted "the entire rail family is proud of him."

Railway Minister Confirms SOP For Train Service Between Nepal, Bihar

Addressing the Rajya Sabha, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal informed that the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to operate direct passenger trains between Bihar's Jayanagar and Nepal's Kurtha is all set. Govt Names Kalka Mail As Netaji Exp To Mark S C Bose's 125th Birthday

Union Railway Ministry has renamed the Howrah-Kalka Mail as Netaji Express to commemorate 'Parakram Diwas' or the 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose on January 23. The 130-year-old train is historically relevant considering how Bose used it to escape British imprisonment in 1941.
