In Gujarat's Dahod district. a goods train derailed near Mangal Mahudi railway station causing disruption in the rail traffic movement, on July 18. The body of a 35-year-old man was found near the railway tracks of Amethi in Uttar Pradesh, on May 1. The victim has been identified as Ashish Pandey. Amethi police station's SHO Umakant Shukla said that the body has been recovered from near Kushitali, and has been sent for post-mortem. Further investigation on the matter is awaited.
In Uttar Pradesh's Ballia region, two people, a man (20) and a woman (25) were found dead on the railway track of the North Eastern Railway, confirmed police on April 30. As per PTI, the bodies were recovered from the Majhi rail bridge between Bakulha-Majhi railway stations. Furthermore, PR Patel, the Stationmaster of Bakulha railway station informed the police, who registered a case and launched an investigation.
Police have apprehended thirteen suspected illegal Rohingya immigrants from Jalpaiguri railway station in North Bengal, on April 24. The immigrants came to Jalpaiguri railway station in two groups- from New Delhi and Jammu, reported PTI. According to an official, the immigrants "were on the way to Rohingya camps in Bangladesh, via Assam and Tripura". Also, a case against the accused has been filed under The Foreigners Act.
In Rajasthan's Jaipur region, a man was arrested for allegedly trying to smuggle in one-kilogram gold, confirmed Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, on April 1. As per PTI, the raid was conducted at the Jaipur Railway Station after receiving a tip-off. The DRI recovered six gold biscuits worth Rs 52 lakh, which was smuggled into India from Myanmar. The accused was arrested and presented before a court, which imprisoned him.

Vishakhapatnam railway station announced to implement "One Station One Product" concept. The station will run on a pilot basis for 15 days and will also display the local artistry, which is Etikopakka toys and handicraft products from the village. The station will become a marketing channel for displaying local products and the identification of craftsmanship, said Anup Kumar Sethupati, Waltair Divisional Manager.
Shrikant Gaikwad, who allegedly attacked a teenage girl with a hammer and later raped her near Ulhasnagar Railway Station in Maharastra has been arrested on Sept 11. The minor girl was returning home from Shirdi with her friends when the incident took place on Sept 10. However, she somehow managed to escape him. Based on the family complaint, the offender has been tracked down and booked under POCSO Act.

Union Minister Piyush Goyal on March 24 stated that out of 7,349 railway stations, 686 have been equipped with CCTV cameras. Addressing the Lok Sabha, Goyal informed that the stations covered are below 10% of the total strength.
