The "Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link Project" of Indian Railways is nearing completion of the world's highest single-arch railway bridge across the Chenab River. The bridge spans a 272-km railway line and is 359 meters high. The bridge will also have a "Golden Joint" that connects the two sides of the bridge. The golden joint will connect the two bridge segments and the bridge overarch deck using High Strength Friction Grip bolts. 

Indian Railways canceled 148 trains across India owing to track repair and operational work on July 26. In Palghar district of Maharashtra, Nitesh Chourasia (36), a section engineer with the railways allegedly committed suicide. On June 19, a police official confirmed the news and said, he committed suicide at his residence in Vartak Nagar, around 11;30 pm. Chourasia was said to be depressed for the past six-seven years and shot himself dead. However, he didn't blame anyone for the incident and is survived by wife and son.
