Nearly 19 people were missing after heavy rains caused flashfloods and triggered a landslide on the Kedarnath Yatra route in Uttarakhand on Thursday night. Orange Alert Issued For Maharashtra, Telangana, Delhi

Maharashtra is witnessing torrential rainfalls for the last couple of weeks and no respite from heavy showers is expected in the coming days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Mumbai city and adjoining areas during the next 24 hours and has issued an orange alert for the district. Oher than Mumbai, Telangana and Delhi are also on alert for rianfall.

AP Weather, IMD Alerts Rainfall For Next 5 Days

The Andhra Pradesh weather department and Indian Meteorological Department issued an alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall. As per sources, the State is set to witness rainfall due to low pressure strengthening in the region. districts including Krishna, NTR, Guntur, Palnadu, Bapatla, Prakasam, and Nellore. Light to moderate rains are expected in all other districts. The expected rain will continue till July 30.

Heavy Rainfall Alert In North Indian States, IMD Says 40 Years Record Broken

North Indian states including the national capital received heavy to very heavy rainfall, killing people in the past few days. The iMD issued an orange alert and asked people to be cautious with the rainfall, which has allegedly broken the 40 year old record. The IMD said a western disturbance prevailed over northern India, leading to an intense spell of rain in north Indian states like Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, J&K and Delhi.

Bengaluru Techie Woman Dies Amid Hospital's Negligence, CM Orders Probe

In Bengaluru, a techie named Bhanurekha (22) died amid medical negligence. An employee of Infosys, Bhanurekha was travelling with her family in a car, when she got stuck at an underpass, amid heavy rain in Bengaluru.  She was rescued and rushed to St. Martha's Hospital but wasn't attended by staff, resulting in death. Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah rushed to hospital and ordered a probe, and announced Rs. 5 Lakh compensation.

Telugu States To Witness More Rainfall For Next Few Days: IMD

The Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telnagana, are witnessing heavy to very heavy rainfall. In the latest weather forecast, the Indian Meteorological Department predicted rainfall in the two Telugu states for the next three days. Getting into the details, the two states will witness rain from May 2, and will receive rainfall and thunderstorm till May 4. The people of the two Telugu states were asked to be alert.
