Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 12, greeted Superstar Rajinikanth on his 71st birthday. "A very happy birthday to Rajinikanth Ji. May he keep inspiring people with his creativity and phenomenal acting. May almighty bless him with a long and healthy life," tweeted PM. Recently, PM Modi met Rajinikanth and his wife in Delhi after he received the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. Rajinikanth shared the pictures of the meeting on Twitter.

Amul has created a new cartoon in honor of the legendary actor Rajinikanth for winning the country's highest award in the world of cinema, the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. Amul caption the cartoon, ''Another crown in Rajinikanth's Darbar!'' The cartoon portrays the actor in a white kurta-pyajama with a khakhi shawl. Notably, Rajinikanth won the award at the 67th National Film Awards in New Delhi on October 25. 

Veteran actor Rajnikant, fondly known as 'Thalaiva' by his fans is set to receive the 51st Dadasaheb Phalke Award on October 25. This award is considered as ''the India's highest film honour'', which is given for the contribution to the world of Indian cinematography. The last award was given to Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan. Besides, the actor will next be seen in ''Annaatthe'', which will release on November 4.

Tamil movies' director KS Ravikumar recently told that he re-read the script of his movie 'Rana' to actor Rajinikanth following the actor's wish. The movie had its script written in 2011 but could not be shot due to the bad health conditions of the actor. However, putting light on the future of the project, the director said, "Don't know what's in store for Rana."
