PM Narendra Modi celebrated Raksha Bandhan with young girls at his residence in New Delhi.  On August 11, PM Modi met with the young girls, daughters of peons, sweepers, gardeners, drivers and others working at PM Office.  The young girls tied Rakhi on PM Modi's wrist and spent an afternoon with PM Modi. Later, Modi tweeted, "Greetings to everyone on the special occasion of Raksha Bandhan."

'Raksha Bandhan,' directed by Aanand L Rai and starring Akshay Kumar and cast members Sadia Khateeb, Smriti Shrikant, Deepika Khanna, and Sahajmeen Kaur will be released in theatres on August 11. The filmmakers intend to release the movie on a digital platform precisely 12 weeks after its theatrical debut. "We are relieved that the film will have a digital release only after three months," a theatre owner said. 

In Gujarat's Surat, to mark the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, Divyang children in a school are making rakhis for the army personnel stationed at Indian borders. According to the school's spokesperson, the children of the school are making festival goodies since the last 15 years, and this year they have received an order to make 2,000 rakhis. The students will create it "with utmost sincerity and dedication," said the spokesperson.
