On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, a 43-year-old woman gifted a new life to her brother, after she donated a part of her liver for complex transplant surgery. On August 11, the private hospital, where the 40-year-old man, suffering from liver failure, released a statement of successful surgery. "For me, my brother is everything. I am happy that I gifted him something precious this Rakshabandhan," said the woman.

'Raksha Bandhan,' directed by Aanand L Rai and starring Akshay Kumar and cast members Sadia Khateeb, Smriti Shrikant, Deepika Khanna, and Sahajmeen Kaur will be released in theatres on August 11. UP CM Yogi Adityanath has announced 48 hours of free bus ride to all women in the state, on the occasion of R.aksha Bandhan. From August 10 midnight to August 12 midnight, all UP state transport corporation buses are free for women. Raksha Bandhan is scheduled to be celebrated on August 11 across India, and earlier, the state of Haryana also announced free bus rides for women.
In Gujarat's Surat, to mark the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, Divyang children in a school are making rakhis for the army personnel stationed at Indian borders. According to the school's spokesperson, the children of the school are making festival goodies since the last 15 years, and this year they have received an order to make 2,000 rakhis. The state government of Haryana has announced free bus travel for women on the occasion of Raksh Bandhan. According to the order, the "gift" of free ride can be claimed multiple times starting from 12 pm on August 10, to 12 am of August 11, and will be applicable on all state-run transport buses. The same was being followed every year in Haryana, which was halted due to COVID-19 pandemic.
