The Former Army Officer Gurmit Singh, who retired as Deputy Chief of the Indian Army is now appointed as the new Governor of Uttarakhand. President Ram Nath Kovind appointed him as the new governor, as incumbent governor Baby Rani Maurya submitted her resignation. As the Director-General of military operations. Lt Gen Gurmit Singh also handled China's operational and military-strategic issues.

Record Breaking Event! Indian President To Board Train Journey In 15 Years
After APJ Abdul Kalam, Ram Nath Kovind will be the first incumbent President to undertake a train journey in 15-years. Reportedly, the president will board train on June 25, from Delhi's Safdarjung station to visit his birthplace (Paraunkh) in UP's Kanpur. Justice NV Ramana Confirmed As CJI; President Clears His Appointment
Justice NV Ramana has been confirmed as the next Chief Justice of India (CJI) as President Ram Nath Kovind cleared his appointment on April 5. Justice Ramana will be replacing incumbent CJI SA Bobde from April 24. Justice Bobde had suggested Ramana's name as his successor. Due for retirement in August 2022, Justice Ramana will be the longest-serving CJI, surpassing late Justice SH Kapadia who served from May 2010-September 2012.

President Hands Over Cheque Of Rs 5 Lakh For Ram Temple Construction
President Ram Nath Kovind donated Rs 5 lakh and one hundred towards donation drive for Ayodhya Ram Temple construction on January 15.
