Harassment Accused Karnataka BJP Leader Ramesh Jarkiholi Tests COVID+
Karnataka’s former state minister and senior BJP leader, Ramesh Jarkiholi has tested positive for COVID-19 on April 5. Reportedly, he has quarantined himself in Bengaluru after receiving his test report as positive. However, Jarkiholi is also facing sexual charges against him and failed to appear before the SIT for inquiry scheduled on April 2. Moreover, he stepped out of an election campaign citing health issues.

Karnataka: Ex-Min Jarkiholi Fails To Appear Before SIT In Sex Tape Case
Karnataka's former Water Resources Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi has failed to appear before the Special Investigation Team on April 2. Accused of sexual harassment, the former minister cited poor health as a reason to skip the meeting and requested for exemption until he gets well. Earlier, on March 26, an FIR was registered against Gokak MLA Jarkiholi for assaulting a woman on the pretext of providing her a government job.

Woman Seen In MLA's Alleged Sex Tape Missing; Parents Allege Kidnap
The Karnataka police, on March 16, registered a complaint after a woman who supposedly involved in former BJP MLA Ramesh Jarkiholi's alleged sex tape went missing. The complaint was filed by the woman's parents who allege kidnapping just days after the woman requested the State for protection. Reportedly, the woman was summoned for investigation based on a complaint by Jarkiholi, who claimed innocence and the video as "fake".

Ramesh Sex Tape: Activist Withdraws Complaint; Claims Hurt By Blames
In a twist, activist Dinesh Kallahalli, whose complaint led to the resignation of Karnataka Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi, has sought to withdraw the complaint on March 7. The activist claimed being hurt by extortion allegations made by former CM HD Kumaraswamy, and the humiliation of the women as reasons. Dinesh, on March 5, had claimed of being threatened by Ramesh's supporters after the sex tape featuring the minister went viral.
