Man Vandalises Hanuman Idol In Ranchi; Arrested
A man in Ranchi has been arrested for allegedly vandalising an idol of Hanuman inside a temple on Ranchi’s main road. The arrest was reportedly made based on CCTV footage and eye witnesses. According to the police, the atmosphere became tense soon after the incident. However, the situation seems to be under control now. Meanwhile, adequate force has been deployed in the area to avoid any untoward incident.

Ranchi Violence: Chargesheet Filed Against 11 Accused By Jharkhand CID
In the ongoing Ranchi violence case, Chargesheet has been filed against 11 accused by Jharkhand Crime Investigation Department (CID), informed officials on September 10. Reportedly, the incident took place on June 10, and an FIR was filed at the Daily market police station. As per NHRC guidelines, the case was transferred to CID in the last week of June.

Jharkhand Reports 4 Cases Of Swine Flu; Officials On High Alert
The state of Jharkhand has reported four cases of Swine Flu, informed Jharkhand National Health mission on August 28. The cases have been reported form three districts, which are Bokaro, Ranchi and Giridih. The health department further stated that officials in the state are on high alert, and are ready to take measures to control the spread of Swine Flu. Further details on the matter are awaited.

Female Cop Mailed To Death By Vehicle In Jharkhand's Ranchi
Sandhya Topno, a female Sub-Inspector of police in Jharkhand's Ranchi, was allegedly mauled to death during a vehicle check. According to Ranchi's Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kaushal Kishore, Topno after recieving information of a vehicle transporting cattles, tried to intercept it. The driver deliberately dashed her, and she was declared dead in the hospital. Reportedly, the vehicle has been seized, and the driver is arrested.

JuJug Jeeyo Faces Legal Copyright Infringement Case For Storyline
Ahead of the release, the "JugJug Jeeyo" team faced a legal copyright infringement case, filed by a Ranchi-based writer Vishal Singh. On June 20, he sued Viacom 18 Studios, Dharma Production, for using plot of his story "Punny Rani". The matter has been listed for review before Judge MC Jha, who will see the film and decide. Meanwhile, for violation of the copyright act, Singh demanded a Rs 1.5 crore.

Man Shot 6 Times During Protests In Ranchi, 2 Bullets Remain Stuck In His Body
Absar, a citizen who was shot during the riots in Ranchi, said he was hit six times and that doctors had extracted four bullets but two remained stuck in his body. He told he was coming from the market and did not engage in protests when he noticed a group of people pelting stones and the police responding by gunfire. Ranchi City was subjected to Section 144 following the incident.

2 Shot Dead During Manda Puja Celebrations In Ranchi: Jharkhand
Suraj Sahu (24) and Abhay Sahu (23) were shot dead in Jharkhand's Ranchi, while an orchestra was underway during Manda Puja, on June 1. The incident occurred at around 3 am, as a result of a quarrel that broke out between two groups. The firing also caused another person to be injured, who is currently undergoing treatment. Reportedly, one accused has been identified and further details are awaited.

IndiGo Offers To Buy Wheelchair For Teenager Who Was Denied Access To Board Flight
After a teenager with special needs was barred from boarding a flight in IndiGo airlines, the management expressed their "sincere regrets" and offered to buy the teenager an electric wheelchair, on May 9. The incident reportedly occurred at Ranchi airport on May 7, when the teenager and his family was denied access to board the plane.
