COVID-19 Vaccines For Children Above 2 Years To Be Available Soon
Director of Delhi AIIMS Dr. Randeep Guleria has revealed that Vaccines for Children are likely to be available in September, 2021. Further, he said the phase 2/3 trials are being conducted by Covaxin and the data will be available by September, this year. If the vaccine found effective and safe, approval is also expected in the same month. However, the trials only involve children between 2 to 17-year-old.

AIIMS Director Dismisses Reports Of 3rd Wave Being Harsher On Kids
AIIMS-Delhi director Dr Randeep Guleria has dismissed those reports, which claimed that the third COVID-19 wave would affect children more adversely. In a press conference on June 8, Guleria stated, "There is no data - either from India or globally - to show that children will be seriously infected." Terming the claims as misinformation, Guleria stated 60%-70% of the children affected in the second COVID-19 wave had low immunity.

Black Fungus Mainly Caused By Steroids' Misuse, Says AIIMS Director
As the cases of mucormycosis aka 'black fungus' have increased in the nation, AIIMS Director Dr Randeep Guleria has warned against the misuse of steroids. Dr Guleria on May 15 stated steroid-taking patients, who have diabetes or COVID-19, are more prone to the deadly fungal infection that is causing high mortality. He said as the COVID-19 cases are rising fast, steroids' misuse must be avoided to curb the black fungus.

AIIMS-Delhi Chief Says India Soon To Have 3-4 COVID Vaccines

AIIMS Nurses Call Off Strike; Authorities To Address Their Demand
The Nurses Union of Delhi AIIMS discontinued their strike on December 15 after the Hospital authorities assured them of resolving their issues. AIIMS Director Dr. Randeep Guleria informed that the demand related to the gender-biased reservation and Sixth Pay Commission will be addressed at the earliest.
