Ranji Trophy Finals Day 1 Mumbai V/S Madhya Pradesh, MUM Scores 248/5 At Stumps

In the Ranji Trophy Finals, Madhya Pradesh played impressively, giving fightback to Mumbai on Day 1, on June 22.  In the game, at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, Mumbai scored 248/5  in 87 overs, of the 90 overs game. MUM's Sarfaraz Khan (40 off 125) and Shams Mulani (12 off 43) will resume the action on Day 2, against Madhya Pradesh.  Notably in Ranji Trophy finals Day 1, MUM won toss.

Madhya Pradesh Advances To Ranji Trophy Final After Beating Bengal

After defeating Bengal by 174 runs at the KSCA Cricket Ground in Alur on June 18, Madhya Pradesh advanced to their first Ranji Trophy final since 1998-99. Bengal was knocked out for 175 runs in 65.2 overs while targeting 350 runs. Beginning June 22 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore, Madhya Pradesh will play Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy final.

Sakibul Ghani Creates World Record On Ranji Trophy Debut; Scores Triple Century

Bihar's Sakibul Ghani has created a world record on his Ranji Trophy debut as he smashed a triple century against Mizoram, on February 18. The 22-year-old Sakibul took 405 balls, 56 fours along two sixes to reach this feat. He made List A debut in 2019 and has played 14 matches in the format. Notably, Ajay Rohera earlier held the record for the highest individual score with 267* runs.

Ranji Trophy 2022 To Be Held In Phases, Says Jay Shah

The Board of Control for Cricket in India Secretary Jay Shah on January 28, announced Ranji Trophy 2022 scheduled in two phases. Notably, league matches would be conducted in the Phase-I, while the knockouts will be held in June as Phase II. Earlier, on January 4, the baord postponed the Ranji Trophy amid the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the BCCI is planning to finish matches before knockouts in June.

BCCI Breaks 87-Yr-Old Streak As It Cancelled Ranji Trophy This Year

Breaking an 87-year-old streak, the BCCI will not be conducting Ranji Trophy in 2021. Instead, the board has opted for the Vijay Hazare Trophy this year after majority of the state units demanded for it. Moreover, for the Vinoo Mankad Trophy, an Under-19 tournament will be held. However, it is expected that the board will provide financial assistance to the Ranji Trophy players as they would not be able to get match fees this year.

BCCI Officials Inspect Venues Ahead Of Domestic Season
