Woman Sentenced To Life Imprisonment For Kidnapping Minor & Demanding Ransom: UP

A court in Uttar Pradesh's Sultanpur has sentenced a woman to life imprisonment for allegedly kidnapping a boy and demanding ransom from his family in 2016. According to Advocate Pawan Kumar Dubey, Brajesh Shukla, wife Shalini Shukla and Sujata Thapa were accused in the case. Thapa being a minor, was dealt with by Juvenile Justice Board. While Brajesh died when the case is under trial, Shalini has been convicted.

Youngster Fakes Kidnapping To Collect Rs 5 Lakh From Father To Repay Debt

Makthum Saab planned to kidnap himself to extort money from his father and was returned to his family after police tracked him in Tirupati. Makthum's father, Ghani Saab, reported his disappearance to police on September 13 and claimed he was being held ransom for Rs 5 lakh. Makthum confessed to police that he was obsessed with purchasing designer-clothing and mobile phones, which caused Rs 3 lakh loan on his head.

Haryana Police: Abduction Case Solved Within 90 Minutes, 8 Arrested

Following a complaint of abduction, Haryana's Hisar police solved the case within 90 minutes and arrested eight persons for the crime on July 26. Reportedly, the two accused called first kidnapped Mahendra on the pretext of showing him a car and later others called the victim's two brothers as well. Subsequently, the kidnappers closed them in an old house in Azad Nagar and demanded a ransom of Rs 50 lakh.

Child Abducted In Karnataka; Culprits Demand Rs 17 Lakh In Bitcoins

Two kidnappers in Karnataka’s Ujire have abducted an 8-year-old child and have demanded the ransom in Bitcoins. Moreover, the kidnappers approached the parent’s over WhatsApp, where they asked to pay a payment of Rs 17 lakh. Reportedly, two unidentified people kidnapped the child while he was returning from the park with his grandfather on December 17.
