An 18-year-old girl was raped and strangulated to death in her hostel room, in Mumbai, Maharashtra. According to the police, the accused was identified as Prakash Kanojia, a security guard of the hostel and has committed suicide. Notably, after committing the rape and murder of the victim, a second-year polytechnic student, Prakash allegedly ended his life, and his body was found at railway tracks. A case is registered for investigation.

Another horrific incident of gang rape crime has been arrested in India.  In Bengaluru's Koramangala region, four people kidnapped a woman from a national park and gang-raped her in a moving car. The incident occurred On March 25, following which a case was registered, despite the threat from the accused. The police has registered a case and arrested the four accused into the case.

In another horrific incident, an Agra woman was allegedly stripped and sexually assaulted by 11 men. The incident occurred under the Tajganj Police limits, Agra, Uttar Pradesh. The victim, a 30-year-old woman escaped eve-teasing, following which the accused, along with 11 others barged into her house, stripped her and beaten her. A Bengaluru man who allegedly raped and murdered a 3-year-old minor has been arrested, confirmed Kamakshipalya Police Limits, on February 1. Notably, the victim's mother was a worker at a garment factory and was in a relationship with the accused. The accused reportedly raped and murdered the child, when her mother was at work on January 31. The police registered a case under the IPC sections and launched an investigation.

In Uttar Pradesh's Auraiya  district, A 17-year-old girl's naked body was found in a millet field, confirmed police on October 4. The girl's family has alleged that she was raped and murdered, which has now taken a political turn. Notably, Congress uploaded a video on its Twitter handle, saying the police were "running away" with the body. However, the police denied the allegations, saying an investigation is underway.
