Indian Bowler Ashwin Is 2nd To Claim 450 Wickets In Test Cricket

Ravichandran Ashwin became the 2nd Indian bowler to take claim 450 wickets in Test cricket. Ashwin struck in his 11th over of the match to dismiss a dangerous-looking Alex Carey for 36 to claim his 450th Test wicket in 89 matches. With this, he stood as the 2nd faster bowler after Sri Lankan legend Muttiah Muralitharan. Tamil Nadu off-spinner surpassed former India captain Anil Kumble's record of 93 Test matches.

Indian Skipper Ravichandran Ashwin Tests Covid-19, Misses Flight To England

Indian skipper Ravichandran Ashwin missed his flight for the England Test series after he tested positive for Covid-19. On June 21, the off-spinner will join the Indian squad, after completing all the required protocols. Furthermore, as of now, Ashwin is in Mumbai and is under quarantine. Meanwhile, the team which is currently in Leicester started training for the match, set to begin on June 24.
