Protests Break Out In Pakistan’s Rawalpindi Against Inflated Electricity Bills

Protests broke out in several places of Pakistan’s Rawalpindi, against inflated electricity bills, on August 24. According to the local media, the protestors blocked GT road and Marrir Chowk. The protestors were seen burning electricity bills out of anger, and demanded the government to abolish all taxes of electricity. Pakistan PM Shehbaz Shariff had said that efforts are being put to solve the ongoing energy crisis in the country.

Dengue Emergency Declared In Rawalpindi Province Of Pakistan's Punjab

An emergency for dengue has been declared in Rawalpindi province of Pakistan's Punjab, by the provincial health department, on August 8. The district has been termed 'very sensitive', in wake of the rising number of dengue cases. Reportedly, over 1000 teams have been formed to eradicate dengue from the district. Over 91 suspected dengue cases have been reported in the district, of which, 29 have been diagnosed for the virus.

NZ vs PAK: 3 ODIs, 5 T20Is To Be Played After 18 Years

Following 18 years of gape, New Zealand's cricket team on September 11 landed in Pakistan to play three ODIs and five T20Is as a bilateral series. Reportedly, the team will start their practice on September 15 after a three-day mandatory quarantine. Both the teams will play the three ODIs on September 17, 19, and 21, while five T20Is will be held on September 25, 26, 29, October 1, and 3.
